CAVASS - Computer Aided Visualization and Analysis Software System
- What is CAVASS?
- Download prerelease version of CAVASS:
Windows
(last updated 22-jun-2009),
Linux
(last updated 22-jun-2009).
(This is a pre-release restricted version for the NIH Study Section
only.) We suggest that the reader goes through Tutorial A.1 first to
get a feel for the user interface. Try out other topical Tutorials as
appropriate.
Installation notes:
If you cannot run the Windows version of CAVASS at all, your system
may be lacking the Visual C++ runtime libraries from Microsoft.
You may obtain them from Microsoft or from
here.
When installing MPICH2 (for the parallel processing version of CAVASS),
you may encounter the error message, "This setup requires the .NET
Framework..." If so, you need to install
this Microsoft software as well.
- Download sample CAVASS data sets.
All operations in CAVASS are tested with three 3D image data sets:
regular.IM0 (6 MB), large.IM0 (0.25 GB), and super.IM0 (1 GB).
(Please make sure that your PC has 4 GB of RAM before testing with
large and super data sets. Some CAVASS operations may take 20-30
minutes or longer on these data sets.
